Flor de Apia
The Transformation of Apía into a Symbol of Quality, Social Commitment and Ecology under the Vision of Pierre Dumont.
Apia, a small town in the Colombian Coffee Belt (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), at 1,650 m above sea level and protected by three natural parks, has exceptional climatic and geological conditions for growing the most highly valued coffee in the world: Colombian specialty coffee.
This is where the story of Flor de APIA begins. In 2010, a European sailor, a 100% seafarer and totally alien to life in the countryside and the Andean heights, visits some friends in the town of Apia, and immediately falls in love with the simplicity and hospitality of its people: the humble and noble coffee-growing families of the Colombian high mountains.
It is known that coffee works miracles: it brings people together in gatherings, resolving differences, comforts and clears the mind and body… and in this case it brought together 2 totally separate worlds: the sea and the high mountains.
This sailor is me, Pierre Dumont, and with the support and unconditional dedication of the people of the village, we created a beautiful project: to make an isolated village in the high Andes world famous… for the quality of its coffee and its people.
Today, Flor de Apia is a concept synonymous with Quality, Authenticity, Social Commitment and Ecology… 4 principles highly valued by its international clients. Flor de Apia was increasingly requested for coffee, then also for other agricultural products and finally also for all kinds of raw materials… and always with the same premise: what is good for the client is good for Flor de Apia.
Today, Flor de Apia, with its strategic partners, is active in the agro-industry, mining, civil engineering and energy sectors… and always with the same priority: Social Commitment and Ecology.
