Café Tocora Zomac
One Family, Three Generations: The Art of Growing Specialty Coffee in the San Adolfo Mountains
CAFÉ TOCORA is a coffee farm located in the mountains of San Adolfo, Huila, Colombia, founded by Wilder Lazo and his family. His father, Segundo Lazo, has been dedicated to the cultivation and production of coffee all his life. The youngest son, Heiner Lazo, is responsible for drying and cupping the coffee, while Wilder Lazo is responsible for marketing, soil research, and planting.
Wilder is a veterinarian, livestock technologist, geneticist and coffee enthusiast. In 2016, when the family was in crisis due to the fall in commercial coffee prices, he decided to return to the family's specialty coffee production and help his father manage his Bella Alejandría farm in the mountains of San Adolfo, in the department of Huila.
Wilder returned to the coffee industry in a unique way, not only focusing on specialty coffee, but also benefiting from his expertise in genetics and keen interest in learning. Now he also has a purifi project.
